Synchronized Skating

The Exeter Lucan Classic Edges are looking to increase our synchronized skating teams for the 2024/2025 season. It is a great way to bring local skaters from both communities together.

Synchronized skating is the only discipline in skating involving more than two skaters. It introduces skaters to a team environment while promoting awareness, teamwork, and skating development. Skaters learn Synchro elements such as circles, lines, wheels, and intersections that include timing, power, balance, control, and spatial orientation. These attributes benefit all disciplines in skating.

Synchronized skating also brings an element of social interaction into a mainly individual sport. Offering an opportunity for skaters to learn, practice and develop skills side by side encourages many life skills and provides an environment to support club morale, sportsmanship, and fun.

Skate Canada’s SynchroSkate program includes several Synchronized Skating categories which accommodate skaters at any age and skill level. Synchronized Skating has grown in popularity around the world, and Canada is considered a world-leader in this discipline.

We are currently looking for more skaters to join our new Star 3 team. The team will be a non competitive team that focuses on having fun while learning the sport of synchronized skating. They will perform their routine in several galas, showcases and carnivals over the course of the season. This team is perfect for skaters who are working on their last CanSkate levels up to Star 1 Skills. Tryouts will be on April 11th and 15th from 5-6pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter. Cost will be $35.

There is also space on our competitive Star 4 Under 12 team. To skate on this team Skills 1 must be passed prior to the season's start. The focus of this team will also be fun, learning and improving from the current season. They will compete in competitions and perform in galas, showcases and carnivals. We are excited for season 2! Tryouts will be on April 8th, 11th and 15th from 6-7pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter. Cost will be $50.
